Samsung SGH-T929

Samsung SGH-T929 Memoir is a beautiful slab form factor mobile phone, which supports GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 on 2G network and UMTS 1700 on 3G network. Samsung SGH-T929 Memoir is only available for T- mobiles. The Samsung Memoir is said to be similar to the Pixon, with wide touch screen, the TouchWiz interface and an 8-megapixel camera for quality photos. Physically, the Memoir is based on a quite simple touch screen slab design. Its resistive touch screen dominates the front of the cell phone and the back of the handset, however, shows much more personality, looking for the entire world like a dedicated point and shoot camera. Photos from the Memoir’s 8 megapixel camera can be directly uploaded to Flickr, Kodak Gallery, Photobucket, and Snapfish while its TouchWIZ user interface can be navigated easily to SMS, MMS, email, and instant messaging. The Memoir is both 3G-capable and GPS-supported. Here is also a built-in Bluetooth, and a microSD memory card slot up to 16GB. Also on board is the complete QWERTY keyboard but unfortunately there is no Wi-Fi facility available in Samsung SGH-T929 Memoir. We have also a Samsung SGH-T929 Memoir cheap buy offer!

Samsung SGH-T659

Thumbs up: Admirable call quality, good camera, decent display, good battery life.

Thumbs down: Drab outdated design.

THE WHIZ KID SPEAKS: History repeats itself… and in the case of Samsung it keeps on happening so many times. LOL. Frankly I don’t understand whats the point in launching a phone which is similar to many that were launched three years ago again. I mean is it so tough for Sammy to move on?? Anyways all my lame wisecracks aside let’s move ahead with the review of this one…

Razzle-Dazzle: This one is BAH… again a slider… nothing new. No no, I aint saying this one is unattractive but then it’s like u get bored of seeing the same thing again n again. Anyways, this is a sleek silver one with a smooth slider mechanism. At 4.06 inches by 1.93 inches by 0.88 inch and weighing 3.28 ounces this one easily slips into the pocket.

Its got a 2.25 inch display with support for 262,000 colours and a resolution of 320×240 pixels. As such there isn’t any real drawback with the display, it’s a pretty much average plain jane display. Right below the display we have a navigation toggle, the talk and end buttons along with the clear key and two soft keys on each side of the navigation toggle. Pushing the slider reveals the keypad. The buttons on the keypad are pretty much flat and don’t offer much hindrance while dialing. They are pretty much well spaced, but speed texters might face a few problems getting used to the keypad.

Samsung Rogue SCH-U960

The Samsung Rogue from Verizon is a feature phone full of high-end features. The AMOLED touchscreen is gorgeous, and all reviewers thought the web browsing was good to excellent. The call quality and camera are very good.

The large QWERTY keyboard on the Samsung Rogue
was well-liked and comfy for excellent texting, IM and email. Reviewers liked the 3.5 standard headphone jack.

The Samsung Rogue is one of the new Verizon phones that requires a data plan and also has an extra fee for email. A possible drawback is that it doesn't sync contacts like most business smartphones do. One reviewer liked the fact that you can use a combination of the touchscreen or the keyboard. Social-networkers don't have their own Twitter or Facebook apps, just links to mobile web pages.

Samsung Intensity SCH-U450

Now, let us focus on the Samsung Intensity SCH-U450 Mobile Phone. “Intensity” is a less advanced model of Samsung phone compared to Samsung Rogue. This Samsung mobile phone has a hidden QWERTY keyboard that can be slid out from the side like Samsung Rogue. However, Samsung Intensity also has a texting keypad in front.

Samsung Instinct SPH-m800

Over the last year, the collective response from most cell phone manufacturers to the iPhone has been rather muted. But now Samsung is trying a different tactic.

Its new Samsung Instinct (SPH-M800) for Sprint is the first cell phone we’ve seen that throws some direct competition Apple’s way. We still dismiss the whole idea of an “iPhone killer” as ridiculous, but comparisons here are inevitable and Sprint is doing nothing to silence them.

Though the Instinct and the iPhone look about the same, and they rely heavily on touch screens with unique interfaces, there are some important feature distinctions.

The Instinct offers its own brand of visual voice mail and it bests the first incarnation of the iPhone by offering 3G network compatibility, integrated GPS, and work e-mail support, just to name a few. The new iPhone 3G will be more evenly matched, but even the Instinct gets points for its multimedia messaging, voice dialing and video recording.

Samsung Ace SPH-I325

Seemingly out of nowhere comes the Samsung Ace SPH-1325 smartphone complete with full QWERTY keyboard, WM 6 (could WM 6.1 be far off?), a 1.3 megapixel camera, and more than a passing resemblance to another well-known Samsung phone. BoyGenius also expects this device to sport CDMA / GSM, but Mobiledia has it listed as CDMA only, so we will have to wait a little while longer to find out the full details —possibly as early as Q1 of 2008.
