Samsung SGH-F210

The sexy looking slim Samsung SGH-F210 looks a lot like the Samsung X830 but this one is better, the Samsung F210 is a multimedia music player that has a cool 1GB of built in memory plus an additional micro SD card slot support. Love it yet? Hate it yet? This up coming mobile music phone has a metallic dial pad and the navigational buttons and dial pad are apparently very nice to use. (Let us be the judge of that).

Samsung SGH-E950

While the Samsung SGH-E950 Mobile Phone is not dissimilar to some of the older Samsung handsets, it is a very useful phone which adds yet another string to the Samsung bow. The handset itself is fairly compact with dimensions of 93mm x 45mm x 15.5mm, and weighs just 96 grams. It is the now familiar Samsung slide format, a format which has carved out a niche for Samsung in what has been and continues to be a very competitive area of the market. It is vital to have a “unique” selling point, and this is it.

As far the functionality goes, the Samsung SGH-E950 Mobile Phone is based on the older Samsung SGH-E900 Mobile Phone which did so well in the recent past. However, Samsung have learnt many lessons from the earlier model, and the Samsung SGH-E950 Mobile Phone has a vastly improved feel, look and functionality to it – ensuring another successful launch for the company?

Samsung SGH-E840

The E840 is certainly easy on the eyes. If the slim profile doesn't attract admiring glances then the glossy, glass effect finish on the front surely will. And despite its slight frame the sliding mechanism feels both satisfyingly smooth and sturdy at the same time.

The phone's menu system is customizable and it comes preloaded with two options. The first presents the main menu as a standard grid of icons, while the second switches into a list view. You can flick between these at any time just by entering the setup menu.

There are also some lovely graphics touches. For example, when you key in a number an animated pen writes it across the screen on a virtual piece of paper. We also love the phone's big and bright screen which is great for viewing pictures or looking a Web sites via the built-in browser.

Samsung GT-i8510

Samsung was the first one to actually tease everyone with its absurdly high resolution cameras in mobile phones, long before anyone else did. But those were all prototypes that never saw the light of day, except for the Samsung INNOV8.In a bid to have everything but the kitchen sink, Samsung included a superb 8 megapixel camera in the INNOV8. The Samsung INNOV8 might lose out to the Sony Ericsson C905 when it comes to having a xenon flash on board, but it more than makes up by having better picture quality during daytime with more details and warmer colors. What’s more, the Samsung INNOV8 is also capable of recording videos in VGA resolution at 30 FPS, something the Sony Ericsson C905 cannot do. It also has a massive 16GB built-in memory with option to expand it further, so you’ll never have to worry about running out of space for your favorite photos and videos. Priced at Rs. 37,000/-, the Samsung INNOV8 is a bit too expensive, but that’s more because of the overall package that it offers than just camera performance. Along with the Sony Ericsson C905, it is one of the best camera phones that you can buy.

While both handsets are designed primarily for communication, the SPH-M220 ditches all frills except for Bluetooth. Yet, the result is a simple and easy-to-use handset with decent call quality. Samsung Jack (SGH-i637)

As the successor to the BlackJack series, the Samsung Jack brings a fresh look and some nice feature upgrades to make it one of AT&T's more solid and affordable messaging smartphones. However, we tend to favor the Nokia E71x's design.

BOTTOM LINE: Samsung's shrewdly updated BlackJack (now simply the "Jack") builds on its predecessors' positive attributes. It's a compelling Windows Mobile smartphone, even if said OS needs a major renovation. PROS: Excellent value. Near-perfect form factor. Comfortable keyboard. Includes 3G and Wi-Fi radios. Good voice quality and reception. Solid battery life. CONS: Clunky OS. Poor Web browser. Proprietary headphone jack requires a dongle. You need to pull the battery to switch microSD cards.

Samsung SGH I627 Propel Pro is basically a business oriented smart phone which provides users with email and high speed internet. Propel Pro though has an odd bulky and square shape does not give a healthy impression of an attractive smart phone. Instead, it looks like some music or any other device.

Samsung Eternity SGH-A867

The Samsung Eternity SGH-A867 is a complete touch screen SmartPhone that landed in the shelves of AT and T. Similar to its cousins the Instinct, Behold and Delve, the Eternity also features a very vibrant touch screen, a very attractive design and a load of multimedia features. But, as you expect, there must be something special about this SmartPhone, and yes it does stand apart from the crowd by offering the AT&T Mobile TV feature. As a result, Samsung Eternity SGH-A867 has turned out to be an unbeatable multimedia device. But then, considering this as a PDA, those corporate guys who are looking for strong data features will be very disappointed.

Samsung SGH-A777

In the past two years, Samsung has launched a number of 3G slider phones and SGH-A777 is latest in the list. The phone looks good with fairly common design and midrange feature set. The device comes at price of $79.99 with a service contract and a mail-in rebate.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X2

Having a look at the Esato board, I came across some neat Sony Ericsson concept phones, designs and even a teaser of an upcoming concept. The latter was created by Razec and can be checked out below. I can spot a 8.1 megapixel camera sensor in there (if my eyes are sharp enough) and it turns out that this is the Sony Ericsson Phan concept phone.

Next up is echo.shane’s Wallet design, a concept that looks and feels like a wallet, thanks to its leather texture. It’s easy to carry in one’s hands and pocket and it turns out we’ll be finding more about this project in the future.
Finally, we get to see more of a poster than a concept phone, since dozens of XPERIA X2 designs have passed before our eyes. This Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 concept is quite a looker, keeping the same panel-based interface of the original handset and probably relying on a customized version of Windows Mobile… or maybe Symbian?

Sony Ericsson Naite

It comes with basic e-mail and texting features, video phone calls, a 2 megapixel camera, photo uploading and a neat media player. Naite will support web surfing, Bluetooth connectivity and its eco side is revealed by the lack of chemicals used in the production process.
Also, we learn that paper consumption was reduced thanks to smaller packaging and less (or none) paper manuals. The bundled charger is also energy efficient, saving Mother Earth once again. Sony Ericsson Naite also comes with an Ecomate app, that allows the user to make green choice, plus a Carbon Footprint calculator, that’ll reveal the amount of CO2 you use daily.

Sony Ericsson T303

Sony Ericsson announced no less than 7 new devices at the Mobile World Congress one month ago leaving very few supprices for the CeBIT fair this year. The new Sony Ericsson T303 is on of the smallest Sony Ericsson phone models to date. Only the Z520 and Z300 clamshell series are smaller. Sony Ericsson T303 is a slider model hiding the number keys when not needed. Only a few navigation buttons are accessible when it is closed. T303 should be put in the low-end segment with only 8MB free storage. This will leave room for only 20+ photos taken with the 1.3 megapixels camera. The press release does not mention any expandable memory option which we find strange. The T303 also has a MP3 player as well which make the few 8MB even less usefull. We might be wrong so the T303 could have expandable memory but none of the press images shows any input holes for memory slots. Sony Ericsson T303 will be found in two colors: silver and black.
