LG is going after the slim cellphone market that has been dominated by Motorola's Razr with its version of LG CU500. This global 3G clamshell is being provided by Cingular. This will be LG's first HSDPA (a higher speed version of UMTS, which allows 1.8Mbps downloads).
The LG CU500 weighs in at 105g (3.7oz) and measuring 19mm (.75") in thickness. The phone will use microSD memory card which can store photos, videos and music. For the music lovers, you'll be happy to know that it'll support MP3, WMA, ACC and ACC+ formats. This CU500 will support stereo Bluetooth technology so you can enjoy your music wirelessly.
It is very interesting that the phone is quad-band, that means it supports four bands. The bands are GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900.
The LG CU500 will be provided by Cingular with 2 year contract at $99.99, after $50 rebate.
