As far as Nokia’s concerned, the biggest news these days regarding the Finnish company is the announcement of their Booklet 3G mini laptop, but that doesn’t mean they’ve pulled the plug on their mobile phone production line much less their touchscreen phone development. As a matter of fact, they’ve just announced their latest addition to their slowly growing touchscreen phone family, the Nokia 5230.
Unfortunately, its specs are not as impressive as its price. It comes with 3.2-inch 360×340 display, 2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0, A-GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack, and 3.6Mbps HSDPA connectivity. It features are pretty average at best, but its price is definitely a great come on.
Likewise, considering that they’ve done nothing much to change its design as it’s still a splitting image of the 5800 XpressMusic, it probably won’t be much of a head-turner as well. Expect the Nokia 5230 to begin shipping in Q4.
